Event and Shooting Timetable
The club hosts several special events during the year. Members of other clubs are invited to shoot and have precedence over club members shooting in the event. Contact our club secretary for more details or download our timetable or alternate timetable.
Presidential Shield
Every 2nd month a handicap Canberra round (30 arrows at three distances, 60, 50 and 40 metres) is shot. You have to be in it to win it!
Club Day
Saturday is the normal club day. The club programmed rounds are shot on club day starting at 1:00 pm sharp! There are normally two rounds shot on club day afternoons; a long distance event (70 metres and greater being the longest end) and a shorter round for archers gaining experience, those preferring shorter rounds and junior archers.
The arrangements for the club rounds are handled (with aplomb) by our field marshall, who will set target butts (two groups of 6 and 3 butts) for the various rounds. Practice shooting is discouraged during the club round so that all archers will participate in this group activity.
In the morning of the club day, archers can shoot a variety of rounds, practice, tune their equipment. Coaching is also available. Accredited rounds may be shot during these times and provided the score can be verified by another archer shooting at the same time.
Other shooting timesMembers with a key have access to the clubhouse and range during daylight hours. The Club committee can provide to members who have been with the club for more than 3 months. Some members are keen shooters and like practicing so it would not be unusual to find a club member practicing during the week. If you have any questions our club coaching staff and committee members would be happy to provide you with more specific information.
